We have a court date!!!

Our pre-adoption hearing was on December 25th (Christmas, or Melkam Gena in Amharic, is celebrated in Ethiopia today - January 7th).  We took this as a sign and not a coincidence.  During the candle light service at Church that evening my heart was heavy and I was in continuous prayer all evening and into the early morning.  Ethiopia is 11 hours ahead of us so while I was praying it was really 11am Christmas day in ET.

I called our adoption agency a few days later and found out that they were waiting to hear back from our lawyer in Ethiopia.  They did not want to speculate but thought something may have been missing at the court hearing.  I was a little sad to hear that, but... 

A few days ago we got a phone call with some very exciting news!  "You have a court date." they said!!!  It turns out everything was in order!  I spent the rest of that day in an excited/hyper active scramble to arrange travel, immunizations, documents, and a whole lot of other stuff.

Another non-coincidence I have to mention is that my mom and dad already had plane tickets (made months ago!) to come and visit us on the same day we happen to fly to Ethiopia! I have peace knowing our kids will be in good hands while we are away!

On a side note, I am supper excited that we will be in Ethiopia for Timkat!  Timkat is the Ethiopian Orthodox celebration of Epiphany.  I know without a doubt that God put this all together, planned every detail out, because I could not have orchestrated the way things have fallen into place any better!  Here is a picture I found of  Timkat celebration-

Over Christmas break we put together the girl's new room (all three kids helped too!).  We are all super excited and ready to bring our girls home!!!

My heart goes out to the families and precious children who were in process to adopt from Russia.  

May God's grace and peace be with them. I pray for His justice to prevail.
