Quickly approaching the 7 month mark...

We are quickly approaching 7 months of waiting for our referral (match) and now 15 months through the entire process. While we are still within the "average" wait time, it is hard to not be antsy :) Summer is coming fast and once school is out, Lord knows that antsy feeling will only get worse for this momma. I think the spring air is getting to me, because I have a terrible case of baby fever. Many of my friends and co-workers are expecting or settling into life with a new baby and  it is a huge joy to celebrate with them. Going to baby showers and "trying" to make dinner for these dear friends has been a lot of fun. I just keep hoping and praying that we will soon be the next family to be greatly blessed with more sweet children.

Last week I took the kids to the fabric store to pick up some cute material for a little girls dress that I am making for our church auction.  While we were there, my big girl spotted some Princess Tiana fabrics in the clearance isle. She told me, quite matter of factly, that her sister would "looovve" it and that we should buy some to make a "bankly" for her. So even though I have put off buying anything for our expected children I broke down and purchased 1.5 yards of the fleeces print and 2.5 of the cotton print. It has been a few years since I have sewn baby blankets and they were a lot of fun to make. It was very exciting to think about our little girl snuggling with it. I had enough fabric to make her a pillowcase, two crib/toddler bed blankets, and two dresses (different sizes since we do not know what size she will be yet) and topped it off with a Princess Tiana doll from the Disney store....Now I just need to find some Lion King fabric to start making something for our little boy :)

This past weekend my husband and I had the pleasure of attending EOR's (Ethiopian Orphan Relief)  Light's of Hope diner/benefit auction.  We had a great time!  There were SOOOOO many great items to bid on.  I happily walked away with a beautiful hand made Ethiopian baby doll with an embroidered face and dress.  I teared up a little when I thought about taking the dolly home and how much more exciting it will be to finally bring home our real babies.  The night was very successful and $143,000.00 was raised for orphans and vulnerable children in Ethiopia! WOW!!!  If you are interested in what EOR is doing or how you can get involved just click here: EOR - Ethiopian Orphan Relief.

Here is a video of what EOR has been able to do over the past year with the donations -http://vimeo.com/42581772

Grace & Peace to you!

P.S.  I have to add this photo of our big girl :)  She lost her first tooth on our trip to Washington this month!
