From Portland to Addis Ababa!

Here is an adoption update!  Our dossier (adoption documents) have started the journey from Portland to Addis!!!  I will be updating the map every few days with the new tracking info for any of you who are curious about how it will get from here to there.

Adoption email that I received today said:

"Your Dossier was sent to Ethiopia today!  Transit time to Ethiopia is approximately four (4) to seven (7) days.  As of today you are officially waiting to be matched.  The matching process generally takes between six (6) to ten (10) months, but now that your Dossier has been submitted you could be matched at any time."

In our letter to the Board of SOSEE (the people who will be matching our family with two little ones at Le Toukoul Orphanage) we said that:

"We believe that God's plan for our family is far greater that anything we could ever plan on our own, so we are leaving as much room as possible for Him to help you make this match." (Our request is for two children, 2 and a half or younger, one boy and one girl. We had the opportunity to add many more restrictions into our requests, but chose not to.) "Please know that until the match making process has been completed our immediate family, extended family, and church family, will all continue to pray for you, and for the children you are matching us with. We feel very confidently that our faith will guide you."
