What we've been up to...

We have had a lot of fun around here this week so thought I would post a little about it:

1.  USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) paper work send to Homeland Security!   Our  I-600 forms have been fill out and sent, payment and ALL!  The I-600 is a petition to classify an Orphan(s) as an immediate relative which is required by US Homeland Security.  I got our email confirmation a few days ago and an official letter in the mail today stating that our "application had been received and is in process."  We have to wait for a biometrics appointment and then within a few months we should have everything approved, which will be the last item I need before we can start the process to send our dossier!
2.  My girl and I did our toesies for some Summer fun!
3.  My husband and I have been canning :o) first row is chili, second is pickled green beans, third is doro wat (an Ethiopian chicken and sauce), the fourth is regular green beans, and the fifth is pickled beets.
4.  Pillowcase Dresses!  So EASY and FUN to make!!  I've been wanting to make a few of these for a while now and I finally looked through my fabric stash and found enough to make theses and a few matching hair accessories.  I am hoping to post more abut these dresses and the Dress a Girl Around the World idea soon!
5.  A new baby doll and matching clothes...sew cute :o)  Our new baby doll has already been on a trip to the grocery store, to two play dates with friends, and has joined us at the dinner table for every meal.
6.  I scriptures that have been with me the most this week...

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted my request. Samuel 1:27
You have granted him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips.  Psalm 21:1-3

  1. Love the pillowcase dresses! I've had some of them bookmarked on my laptop for a while. You can also make shirts for yourself, which, since I don't have a girl is what I would be doing! Congrats on being closer on your adoption. :)
