We are EXPECTING!

Yes, you heard me right!!!  We signed the contracts and paid our fees before church this morning in the Sunday School building.  What was even more meaningful was that our children's ministry director notarized everything for us!  So, at approximately 8:35 AM on May 1, 2011 we became "paper pregnant".  The day has been just beautiful both because it was a prefect spring day and because of its significance.

Today's sermon was about Ruth and Naomi.  I can see not only the love Ruth must have had for Naomi, but the love she had for Naomi's God.  We carried that message into Children's Chruch and my side kick played "I will Follow" by Chris Tomlin (I'll add the link to this song at the end of this post).  In confirmation class everyone laid hands on us and both our children's director and  Pastor said a blessing on our paper work and for the adoption journey.  My Sunday School class went well.  I had 4 boys and 3 girls including my oldest.  Been really enjoying teaching and being involved with songs this year.

As soon as Sunday School was over a friend form our bible study introduced me to a beautiful women from Ethiopia.  She and her husband are from both Ethiopia.  I think I started to tear up when she introduced us. This beautiful women had the most inviting, and welcoming eyes.  She definitely has a kind and loving soul.   Shaking the hand of someone from the same country as my expected children made me a little emotional, especially because it was right after all of our paper work got completed.  Her loving disposition and openness makes me SO want to get to know her better.  I really think she could help me better understand the Ethiopian culture and help prepare us to bring home the rest of our family.  I told her I made dinich wat last week and she said that was her favorite dish.  She also said "I am very proud of you.  It is a good thing."  which means a LOT to me.  This, coming from someone native to Ethiopia, solidifies what is in my heart and relieves me of any worries I ever had.  It was a wonderfully orchestrated day that could have only been put together by our amazing God.  Such an uplifting morning and a definite high light in my life!
